Head of Business Development and Marketing

Job Introduction

How we market and sell our legal services is the responsibility of our capable internal Business Development and Marketing Team.  They are at the heart of the VWV brand providing that all-important first impression of our business to everyone that engages with us from clients, candidates, referrers, third party suppliers as well as our competitors.

Antonia James, Director of Client Relations, is recruiting for a Head of Business Development and Marketing to be based from our Bristol office.

Could this be the opportunity your career to date has been working towards?

The overall objective of this role will see you supporting and facilitating the creation and development of the firm's strategic growth objectives in addition to co-ordinating, managing and resourcing business development initiatives focused on helping the firm to achieve them.

Your strategic expertise will be needed to drive initiatives aligned to our sector and service specialisms as well as in our continued product development strategy.  You'll be responsible for managing the associated budgets and resources to ensure effective implementation as well as providing clear ROI.

Managing people requires great skill and a natural ability, managing people that manage others requires a depth of management and leadership experience and ability to inspire, motivate and support managers to not only manage their own responsibilities but to balance this alongside providing the best ongoing support, coaching and mentoring to their teams so it will come as no surprise that team management will also be a large part of your role.

So who are we hoping will apply?

You'll most likely have a degree in business studies or marketing coupled with the Chartered Institute of Marketing Diploma and/or Chartered Marketer status and at least five years professional services BD and marketing experience with an impressive track record of managing and developing teams. 

Your previous experience and qualification will provide the evidence of your suitability but the crucial evidence we'll be assessing throughout the recruitment process will be your ability to communicate and inspire, to present confidently and to influence our lawyers and partners alongside balancing a challenging workload with mixed priorities through first class organisation and time management where attention to detail is not compromised.
