Our Injury Law team deal exclusively with accident claims and personal injury claims for compensation for individuals. Their extensive legal expertise enables them to recover millions of pounds in compensation every year, alongside providing a friendly and approachable service.
Could this be your first step on the legal career ladder?
A paralegal role at VWV provides the perfect building blocks for future trainee solicitors looking to gain experience ahead of starting a training contract or even to assist with applications for training contracts themselves and that's due to the variety of legal disciplines you'll be exposed to. We're proud of our record in transitioning a good proportion of our existing paralegals into trainee solicitors.
To give you a flavour of what to expect, you'll find yourself drafting documents, maintaining Lexcel compliant files, assisting with client correspondence and reports and conducting legal research. You'll become familiar with the firm's case management system and compliance procedures for letters of engagement, file opening, money laundering, archiving, billing and client accounts.
Why choose us?
VWV is known for its friendly and welcoming culture so team work and collaboration is key. With around 450 employees we’re big enough to win the big ticket work but small enough to know our people as individuals and help our star performers shine, see the video for what our people have to say about us.
We offer a competitive salary, contribute to your pension pot, offer holiday allowance that increases on a year's employment, give you private healthcare and life assurance, offer a range of discounts with local businesses and with so many excellent internal training programmes on offer to everyone it's so easy to develop and improve your skills.
Our Bristol office is based on the Harbourside surrounded by the buzz of local cafes and restaurants with lovely views over the docks and within easy walking distance of the newly developed Wapping Wharf.
We’re passionate about creating an inclusive workplace that promotes and values diversity, we're striving to create an environment where everyone, regardless of background, can reach their full potential.
So who are we hoping will apply?
You'll have a Law degree or have taken the Graduate Diploma in Law and perhaps even done your LPC and whilst any previous paralegal experience will surely help you get to grips with such a valuable role your lack of paralegal experience will not hold you back as it's the soft skills below which are much more of interest.
It's a busy role so you'll be organised, an excellent all-round communicator, have proficient IT skills using Microsoft Office and definitely someone who's motivated by the team's successes ahead of their own. And whilst there's no doubt that time spent in a commercial law firm of this size will naturally enhance your commercial acumen, we love to see applications from graduates whose commercial awareness is instinctive so if that's you, then we really want to hear from you.
